I tested 10 setting sprays on oily skin—here are the only two that worked

The two that survived a full day

One/Size On ’Til Dawn was the clearest winner for maximum oil resistance. The spray dries down quickly and leaves a firm, matte finish that immediately makes the base feel more secure. After eight hours, my forehead and nose showed some shine, but the foundation was still even and my blush had not disappeared.

Why the other formulas fell short

Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Setting Spray came close. It gave my makeup a smooth, refined appearance and helped preserve foundation coverage around the mouth and cheeks. However, my T-zone became shiny by the middle of the day, and the formula did not provide enough oil control to qualify as one of the two winners.

Urban Decay All Nighter is the better everyday recommendation. It handled oil well while preserving a natural-matte appearance, and it worked with more foundation types. If you dislike a tight or strongly matte finish, this is the safer purchase and the one I would pack for travel.
